The annual Australian Law Students' Association Conference for 2008 was held from 7 - 13 July in Hobart.
It was a great week for UQ, with our Client Interviewing team winning the national competition. The team members, James Green and Angus O'Brien will go on to represent Australia at the Louis M Brown International Client Counseling Competition in 2009.
UQ's Negotiators (Emma Forbes and Jenny Molloy) and International Humanitarian Law Mooters (Emily Mayberry and Jane Moran) also did UQ proud, getting knocked out in the Quarter Finals. Our Witness Examiner (Jonathan Lay), Paper Presenter (Thiagesh Sukumaran) and ALSA Mooters (Alex Meaney and Kristen Price) all put in good showings, with strong performances throughout the preliminary rounds.
Finally, two UQLS Executive Members were elected to the 2008-9 ALSA Executive and Committee. Verity Doyle (UQLS President) was elected as ALSA President and Angus O'Brien (UQLS Education Officer) was elected Publications Officer (Academic Journal).
