Interested in mooting?
The Mooting Advisory Bench (MAB) is seeking expressions of interest to enter the Law Faculty Moot Competition, sponsored by Corrs Chambers Westgarth.
The Faculty Moot is an internal mooting competition that is run in a similar format to the UQLS Mooting Competitions. However, unlike the UQLS Mooting Competition, this compeition will only be based on one problem for the entire competition.
Teams can consist of 2 or 3 members. All team members must be members of the UQLS.
This competition is open to all year levels and beginner mooters are encouraged to enter.
The Grand Final of the competition will be held in the Qld Supreme Court and presided over by Justice McMurdo.
Key Dates
- Sign up Closes: Wednesday 30 July at 5pm
- Round 1: 4 August - 8 August
- Round 2: 11 August - 15 August
- Quarters & Semis: 18 - 22 August
- Grand Final: 26 August at 6.30
Sign up sheets are now avaliable outside the UQLS office.
A 'How to Moot' session will be held on Tuesday 29 July and Thursday 31 July at 5.30 to 6.00PM in the Law Library Moot Court. The sessions will be followed by a demonstration moot by this year's Torts Moot Team.
