So what is the Law Revue?
The University of Queensland Law Revue is an annual sketch comedy show which is written, produced and performed by law students.  After selling out all three performances last year, the 2008 revue will run for a whopping four nights - August 27 to August 30 - at the  Schonell Theatre.  The sketches, song parodies and videos deal with uni life, pop culture and of course, the law.

Being a member of the stage cast is a significant time commitment.  Rehearsals for the show begin in the June/July holidays and during August, performers may be required to rehearse for as many as twenty hours per week.
If you're into comedy, are keen to meet new people, or want to beef up your resume with extracurriculars, there are plenty of other ways to get involved. 

Video cast - much smaller time commitment than the stage cast, much less stress
Band - wacky instruments more than welcome ¹  
Props/sets/costumes designers - for all you artistic types
Make-up artists - for all you make-up artist types
Video crew - any law students with a flair for filming/editing footage
Techies - sound desk, lighting desk, spotlights
Backstage crew - moving props, operating curtains, making snide comments about cast members behind their backs
And perhaps most importantly... SCRIPTWRITERS

Scriptwriting meetings are held every Monday and Wednesday until the end of May to brainstorm and discuss ideas, evaluate and perfect scripts, and laugh about all the jokes that are just too damn witty to be in the show.  If you're good at coming up with funny ideas, or are good at telling other people that their ideas are funny, come along.
When: Mondays and Wednesdays, 1 to 3pm (excluding holidays...duh)
Where: Usually Group Study Room 5 of the Law Library - any venue changes will be announced on the UQLS website
