Law Revue: What is it?
Law Revue is an annual sketch comedy show which is written, directed and performed entirely by UQ law students. Last year revue played to sellout crowds over four nights in the Schonell Theatre. Although traditionally based in the smaller Cement Box theatre, the Revue upsized in 2005 to accommodate growing crowds. We hope that the crowds get bigger this year, in the sense that there will be more people. The show runs for about 2 hours, featuring a variety of original sketches, songs, videos and musical numbers. Performed by a smallish onstage cast and separate video cast, the revue also features a dedicated onstage band and backstage production team of sound ops, lighting ops, hair and makeup, tweakers... On the production side, the Revue is organised by its convenor, who is supported by two producers, a musical director, video director and choreographer.

...Writing meetings...
Since the Revue is all original (and hilarious) material, it has to come from somewhere. Starting properly in week 2 of semester one, writing meetings will be held on a Tuesday 12-2pm AND Thursday from 12-2pm on an allocated study room in the law library. Check on the UQLS noticeboard or in the office for an changes to place and time. Meetings generally take the format of discussions between new and older writers, where we like to discuss ideas and scripts. If we're lucky, we might even do some writing. All ideas are welcome, and we love the opportunity to welcome newcomers. Heck, past revues have featured work by first years, so if you have even the slightest inclination.... come along.

When is it?
The Revue will play in the Schonell Theatre, UQ from opening night on Wednesday 26 August through Thursday 27, Friday 28 and Saturday 29 August.
