Education
Do you have issues with your legal education?
We are here to help! Welcome to the Education Portfolio for 2010 from your Education Officers; Andrew Wydmanski, Maritsa Samios and Sarah Wilson and the Vice-President of Education and ALSA; Bianca Tracy.
The UQLS Education team acts on behalf of the UQLS and law students generally across a number of areas. The UQLS is proud to represent students' educational interests and convey students' concerns to the Law School. This is done through UQLS representatives sitting on a number of Law School committees and through regular consultation between members of the Education team and the Law School's management team.
The Education Officers are the people to contact if you've got any concerns, complaints or compliments about anything to do with the Law School - whether it relates to unfair assessment, teaching or any aspect of your studies.
Formal Submissions
Over the past few years the UQLS Education team has prepared a number of formal submissions which were presented as part of review processes undertaken by the University and the Law School. These were designed to ensure that student views were presented as part of the reform processes of the Law School and the degree. It is expected that further submissions regarding a number of areas will be made over the next twelve months. As part of the preparation of these submissions, the UQLS calls for input from students - so watch our email and this website for a chance to get involved.
UQLS Textbook Loan Program
The UQLS is running the Textbook Loan Program in 2010. The program entitles successful applicants to one fully-funded textbook for a compulsory LAWS course. Click here for details about the application process.

UQLS Teaching Awards
Each year the UQLS awards excellence in teaching by making two awards to staff of the TC Beirne School of Law, one for elective courses and one for compulsory courses. The awards are made on the basis of the Education Survey conducted at the end of each year, which asks students to nominate a staff member for excellence in teaching.
